We are excited to share our 2024 Walk for the Animals: Make the Magic Happen event will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Sunnyview Expo Center’s Barn E from 8:30am-11:30am!

This year’s event will feature a live band, magic demonstrations, balloon animals, costume contests, kids’ games, dog games, fun prizes, food and drinks from the Brewing Futures food truck, vendor booths, goodie bags, raffle baskets and more!

Every year, we rely heavily on this fundraiser to generate the funding needed for our medical care fund. This supports the costs of providing a full medical exam for each animal upon arrival, including vaccinations, necessary testing, blood work, medications, spaying and neutering, and other veterinary care as needed.

These funds ensure OAHS can compassionately care for the more than 2,700 animals in need who come through our doors each year, and to provide low-cost vaccination, microchipping and pet food pantry services to hundreds of community members.

Pet relinquishment continues to be on the rise due to economic factors, and costs for food, supplies and medical care have also increased over the last year. Our goal for this event is to raise $60,000.
 
We hope you will help OAHS continue to Make the Magic Happen – providing safe shelter and compassionate care to stray and surrendered companion animals, reuniting lost pets, matching homeless pets with new adoptive guardians, and helping community members care for their pets, keeping them safe and healthy at home.
