Family Partnership

Allows children ages 12–15 years of age to volunteer at the shelter with a parent/ guardian.


Feline Friends

Spend time playing, brushing or relaxing with OAHS felines looking for companionship.


Canine Partners

Every dog deserves some one-on-one time with a nice person like you. Dog walkers take dogs for a daily walk.


Pet Therapy

This is your chance to bring a bit of joy and happiness into the lives of those in local nursing homes.

Volunteer Requirements

*The first step is to attend a volunteer orientation (scroll down for schedule).*

  • Be at least 16 years old to volunteer independently 
  • Be able to commit to 3 months of service
  • Minimum of 8 hours per month
