Sat. Aug. 15 AM: As of today, we are focusing our efforts on this target area: Between Jackson/76 on west, to County Road A/Bowen on east, to Snell Rd on north and the shelter (just north of Murdock) on the south (see map with sightings marked by stars).

1 – Lost Dog Signs: we need people to make bright, simple, large lost dog signs to put at intersections within this target area – the sign should read:

2 – Lost Dog Flyers: we need people to hand out/post Flash’s lost dog flyer:

• to homes in target area (do not put in mailboxes, rather roll up in door handles)
• to businesses in target area – hand to receptionist; ask if you can put flyers on employees’ windshields
• post/hand out in community locations throughout Oshkosh (Vet clinics, Kwik Trips, other bulletin boards)

BEFORE FLYERING:

• Pick up printed flyers at the shelter (available at cat desk or in volunteer room) or download the updated flyer HERE 
• Please mark on the printed map in the shelter volunteer room (kitchen) which streets/homes/businesses you will be visiting so we do not duplicate efforts – if you are unable to come to the shelter, please email emily@oahs.org and she will mark the map for you

3 – Search Parties: we need people to search anywhere within the target area (make sure if you are on private property to ask permission from the homeowner) – early morning/dusk searching may have more success; during the day we fear he is hiding

BEFORE SEARCHING:

• Stop by the shelter to pick up a yellow visibility vest, bag of treats, guidelines sheet and map, and piece of fabric with Jenny Mo’s (his bestie) scent on it (in bin by cat desk in lobby)
• Read these Guideline Instructions for how to search for Flash (Download PDF HERE) and what to do if you see him (be quiet, do not approach him, sit down, call Jenny immediately at 920-896-3650)
• Text Emily at 920-810-1388 and she will text you our audio clip of Jenny Mo calling Flash’s name that you can play while searching
• Reminder to ALWAYS BE SAFE!

4 – Those living in target area: 

• Please check your ring cameras/trail cameras for any footage you might find of Flash
• Please set out a small feeding station in a quiet, protected locatio with water and smelly food – ideally somewhere you can monitor or video record – we need another sighting, and having food out as many places as possible increases our chances of a sighting

5 – Share on social media – we will continue to do Facebook and Instagram posts about Flash; please share these posts to spread the word!

Additional Potential Sighting
On Fri. Aug 14, we got a call from a woman who saw a dark brown chihuahua running loose in some yards west on Linde St. toward Hazel St. by Menominee Park; she did not see a leash but we are hopeful. Some people are also focusing on searching the park and surrounding streets.

Please note that we will be fundraising for Tractive Smart Dog GPS Trackers to add to all of our foster dogs’ collars to ensure this never happens again. The foster home and our staff and volunteers are beyond worried; accidents happen and please do not blame any of them. We are still hopeful we will find our little guy and taking steps to ensure this situation never happens again.
